500 Tasty Sandwiches is a Jersey City, NJ based culinary collective, cooperative, community service, operation outreach program project led by K. Prepelica, author of Thịt và Cháy, a best-selling socialist primer on meat cookery. The mission of 500 Tasty Sandwiches is simple: to introduce curious eaters and cooks to unique recipes, great cocktails and entertaining gastronomic commentary.

Curious about food and culture, Prepelica received formal culinary training through a correspondence course completed while imprisoned in Vietnam’s Thủ Đức prison and later, as an apprentice butcher outside Košice, Slovakia. On a constant quest for undiscovered flavors with an appreciation for classic dishes done right, Prepelica’s cooking is heavily influenced by New York’s Union Square greenmarket and the city’s many ethnic groceries, restaurants and neighborhoods.
